What you missed from Microsoft’s big device launch party this week

Microsoft recently unveiled new devices at its press event in New York. Though it’s clear that Microsoft won’t beat Apple or Google in the mobile device space just yet, it should be noted that the new devices are quite decent and can actually compete with the flagships offered by the two today.

So what is Microsoft offering now?

First off, on the Surface end, Microsoft has two devices, the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book – both devices with a handful of notable features; a clear upgrade from older versions of the Surface tablets.

Other devices that made their debuts at the event are the new Lumia phones, which cater to consumers who are looking for high, mid, and low-end smartphones. Though the new handsets look promising, not many carriers are interested in selling the Lumia 950. At the time of writing, AT&T, Inc. is the only one who has stated that it will be carrying the Lumia 950 in its stores. No news yet if the other two devices will also be sold in AT&T’s stores.

Microsoft also featured its new fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band 2. The device shows a more curved design and improved features.
