Silverlight, Microsoft’s Flash competitor, keeps moving full steam ahead after announcing today that MySpace will support Silverlight on their devloper platform.
MS has several wins for Silverlight in the past month. After getting a nice kick from the Summer Olympics last year they have recently picked up serving the HD video streams of March Madness for CBS as well as continuing their Olympics relationship to handle the next Winter Olympics.
I am a huge fan of Silverlight and what it brings to the table as a Flash competitor. At its recent Mix09 conference in Vegas Microsoft announced Silverlight 3 which is currently in beta. Version 3 brings a slew of improvements on already great functionality while adding a ton of new controls/tools for developers.
Microsoft still has to make some headway in the download/install department but they will no doubt acheive the critical they need for the platform by the end of next year.
