Angle Roundup: Microsoft Opening Live, Cloud Manifesto, and Google Eyeballing Netbooks

image Microsoft opening up Live Messenger in a BIG way:  A leaked internal message points to Microsoft opening up its widely adopted instant messenger platform to several third parties besides Yahoo!.  Rumors are AOL, Facebook, GTalk, ICQ and Skype hookups are coming.  This is really big news when you consider embeddable web messenger libraries out there provides by MS and AOL.  This should worry meebo somewhat.

image Cloud Manifesto Posted: Last week I posted on the impending cloud manifesto that had the blogosphere in an uproar.  Yesterday the initial draft was posted.  Now they just have to settle TomTom’s patent against MS for navigation related infringements and they can fully be on good terms.

Microsoft and TomTom kiss and make up: TomTom settled the lawsuit with image Microsoft regarding supposed infringements on FAT related patents that implicate the core Linux in a wider manner.

Google Eyes Netbooks:  Reports of HP testing out Android on netbooks.  As much as people want to let loose that this is yet another sign that Microsoft is falling by the wayside this means more trouble for Linux on the desktop then a threat to the Windows monopoly.
