    Its crunch time for Adobe and flash. For all of the great traction they have in the web space its all driven by sites/services that want to serve media to the browser. In AIR they have enticed developers to write desktop apps that can have web functionality/behavior with access to the native OS such as local store.

    As HTML 5 ramps and Silverlight keeps gaining adoptance Adobe is battling on several fronts. In the browser where I dont think they can dominate in the long run as they have to date.

    As cool as the concept is of flash on the TV and having its power/flexibility from a user experience standpoint I see this space as the area where they have the least amount of odds of winning.

    You have Yahoo! and their widget platform they are pushing. You have cable pushing their own interactive standards that are not flash based. Sun/Oracle has VERY high hopes for JavaFX to gain traction in their vast community. MS and their IPTV solution that has its own standards.

    For successfull they are and have been in the past Adobe has a long road ahead of it to remain relevant outside of the Acrobat/Creative Suite.
