Can't wait to see that tool of yours :) I've really begun using Google Reader in a big way a few weeks ago and thought it would ROCK if it would only link to Twitter.

I read the YoTweets article and thought the exact same thing. I couldn't fathom doing that to my followers. They would and SHOULD revolt. Perry Belcher makes cash on Twitter but he does it in more of an INFORMATIVE manner (like a reporter), which walks the fine line but he lets people disseminate the questions/information himself.

I love automation but it really does have its limits....I just love Twitter due to all the great contacts I've met in various communities like social networking, Dallas folks, etc. I never would have met 1/10th the people if it wasn't for Twitter. Heck, I met Rizzn at Wordcamp, which I found out about via TWITTER. LOL

Dan Ross
@BetterBizIdeas

That's a slippery slope. Apple catches a lot of flak for what they let in and out of the App store. Twitter's exhibited a pretty open attitude to what is allowed on the network. I don't see them really making this move, but tighter scrutiny wouldn't be completely unwelcome, given the influx of spam lately.

I can easily see the danger in this, especially from the ad revenue point alluded to in this post. I'm not someone personally who forwards a lot of things, but I can envision YoTwits being used to try and market almost anything, with the sender getting some kind of credit. You're right; it's trouble in the making.

great point Michelle. I think that Twitter has to do something to enable a positive user experience not enable a crappy user experience.

I wonder if Biz and Ev will have to regulate who gets to use the Twitter API in the same way Apple regulates the app store.

Although, some Twitter peeps could use a "boost in personality". Jes' sayin'.
