imageFacebook just got real time search engine – Friendfeed. I am actually VERY excited about FriendFeed going to Facebook. This is a HUGE win for both companies!

I had no idea about this deal before I read about it on Techcrunch today. It is interesting to see the anti-Facebook reactions here. I have my arguments with Zuckerberg too but overall this is much better for is than going to Google or Twitter, in my opinion.

image Facebook has 800 employees and 300 million users. This makes both companies much more important. Facebook is aiming its big guns at Google, NOT Twitter. That is why I am excited by Facebook's acquisition of FriendFeed.

Standing in front of the Alamo today, I had a chance to do a short podcast with Paul Buchheit from Friendfeed and Mike Schroepfer (Facebook’s Veep of Engineering).

[Editor’s Note: I’ve cobbled this post from Robert’s scattered posts across Friendfeed to accompany his ad hoc podcast (with permission, of course). He tells me that he should have a fuller post later at his personal blog. –mrh]

[Update: Robert’s more in-depth post here. –mrh]
