I was trying to make some sense out of the Friendfeed, Facebook, "Friendbook," "Facefeed" business and came across Rizzn's rundown on Wordpress as the emergent platform. I hope this happens, because Wordpress is an awesome platform and they have most of the pieces in place to do this. Shifting your destiny to your own blog, that sure has a nice ring to it.
Two debates are raging today, the fate of Friendfeed and the value of short URLs. I, long with a lot of others, don't want all my eggs in Friendfeed’s basket nor do I want all my migas in some short lived short URL shop. I'd love to see a decentralized short url service that will run on my domain as a Wordpress widget.
Good goin' Rizzn… nailed it!
