My Early Favorite from TC50: FluidHTML

image Watching Penn and Teller present their iPhone app this morning was pretty interesting (and infuriating, since I couldn’t to see them in person), but of the startups I’ve seen thus far, the most innovative presentation has been the one from the FluidHTML folks.

The short version of what their attempting to solve is the index-ability of Flash.  Flash presentations on the web are amazing for improving the user experience, but rarely chosen these days since it limits the ability for search engines and others who want to grab either linkable URLs or content from the page.

FluidHTML makes available the power and presentation of Flash to those with the ability to only code HTML.

The potential here is self-evident.  Ron Dodge, one of the judges, brought up the point that developer adoption might be pretty difficult to achieve.  I think, though, the ease of use here (HTML) is going to grease the wheels quite a bit.

FluidHTML has the potential to be the runaway winner of the show (assuming something more spectacular doesn’t come along), in my opinion.
