Hey tongyun: “Don’t be stupid” probably works for you because you typically make good decisions and understand consequences. Take away those two traits and “Don’t be stupid” has no real meaning.

Whenever I’m on a social media site, I try to live by the motto, “don’t be stupid”. Let’s face it. When you post something on the Internet, it’s there forever and no way to take it back. It gets even worse if what you’ve posted goes viral. If users would just live by the “don’t be stupid” motto, then everything else would fall into place. But it just amazes me when I see stupid stuff out there. I just shake my head and wonder, “what were they thinking?” Oh, well.
