The new Droid from Motorola has put the pressure on the Smartphone industry. It has created a huge buzz over the holiday season and is sure to put Apple on their toes. After several weeks of testing this phones capabilities I have come up with my list of the good and the bad.
The Display:
The first thing you will notice when you pick up this phone is how clear the display is. The beautiful 3.7-inch touch screen display boasts a resolution of 854 by 480.
The Browser:
I previously owned several Blackberries and must say that the browser on this phone is incredible. Many of the browser capabilities are similar to the I-Phone.
The Keyboard:
One of the pitfalls to the Droid is the flat slide out keyboard. I think this phone would greatly benefit from a larger keyboard with raised keys that were more defined.
The Apps:
The Droid has over 10,000 apps available for download.
My Favorite Part:
My favorite part of the Droid is the built-in navigation feature. I have found the Droid to be consistently accurate within 30’ of your location. You can choose either driving, walking, or mass transit directions. It will even let you know what time the next train is coming. Pretty cool.
My Least Favorite Part:
The Droids battery is very weak for a phone this powerful. I find myself constantly looking for my car charger shortly after noon each day.
The Verdict:
This phone packs a powerful punch to the Smartphone market. Though this phone has a few small quirks mentioned above, this Smartphone’s abilities heavily outweigh those issues.
