If this pans out, this will be the biggest news at CES. AT&T needs more content deals, customers, MSFT wants more control in the home. Not to mention, U-verse has been a painful rollout and I hear a lot of complaints about it. I’m in the heart of Silicon Valley and can’t even get a promised by date. But I can sure get a DirecTV dish. However, DirecTV is out of running room without an uplink, and the writing has long been on the wall.

Unfortunately, AT&Tstill can’t get U-verse into many areas. I’m on the SF peninsula and can’t get it. Just ordered triple play from Comcast cuz I got tired of waiting.

For what it’s worth, i absolutely LOVED my time with AT&T’s Uverse service. Assuming the QoS remained the same as UVerse, DirectTV might even improve.
