#CES2010: Is Social Media Killing Your Battery?

image We don’t always talk about this too much, but it’s something we all think about: if you have a smartphone, prepare to plug it back up by the end of the day. It’s just how goes, surfing, WiFi, playing games, these activities drain your battery.

I give it to Apple though, they must’ve wrote "Battery Life" on the board and circled it when creating the first iPhone. No multiple functions. No memory hogging apps and almost nothing running in the background.

The opposite of this is Palm‘s Web Os and Motorola‘s Blur user interface. Facebook and Twitter 24/7 can be draining to your phone. After logging into Facebook on Nokia n97 mini I barely received six hours of phone use, that’s sad.

Thanks to tech though we have phone covers that charge the phone as we use it. Isn’t that crazy? If you ask me, the next leap in technology has to encompass better batteries.

How am I supposed to use my iSlate and Nexus One for just six hours?
