See, I Told You So: Windows Phone 7 Coming October 11th

image Pocket-lint is out with a reliable sources post that claims Microsoft will be holding a global launch in New York for Windows Phone 7.

Multiple sources familiar with the matter have confirmed to Pocket-lint that Microsoft will launch its new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7, on 11 October 2010.

Pocket-lint has learnt that the Redmond-based company will use New York as the global stage for the launch, which will be beamed around the world.

Although none of our sources were prepared to be named, all are senior figures within the industry that we know and trust.

This is a follow-up to the news that WMPoweruser had about a TechEd conference in the UK to be keynoted by Steve Ballmer that with the topic of “Windows Azure, Windows 7 and the soon-to-be-released Windows Phone 7 and IE9“. As well, Pierre a long-time WinExtra Forums member passed on this little tidbit in the comments toEpisode 5 of our Daily Brief show:

FYI: Steve Ballmer will also be present in the French Tech Days event on October 7th. Windows Phone 7 devices will be on lottery. Now, if thatisn’t a launch for WP7, I don’t know what is…

The fun part here is that back on July 24 in our weekend WinExtra on Windows podcast Paul and I both predicted an early October release of Windows Phone 7 (at around the -28:00 mark), and this was still in light of the ‘official’ statement of an October 22nd release.

So folks if the rumors do hold true we can honestly say – we told you so.
