Scoreloop Broadens Gamer Networks to Samsung’s bada Platform

Scoreloop has teamed up directly with handset maker Samsung to bring its Social gaming SDK to the bada platform, as well as its infrastructure to the World Cyber Games.  With this deal, Scoreloop’s SDK will be available to Samsung’s deveopers, offering up bada integration for those publishers that already support the Scoreloop platform.

The native Scoreloop bada SDK has a few far-reaching perks, including social network integration for MySpace and Facebook.  The idea is to provide more points of engagement and interaction for end users, with Scoreloop’s web-based, universal leaderboards, player challenges and more.

This serves as a method of cross-promotion for publishers, particularly those involved in mobile gaming.  Scoreloop has been a long-time supporter of Android’s platform in particular, filling in several network gaps that make for a more social experience.

With the latest launch from OpenFeint, mobile gaming has become even more leveled, as such platforms are device- and OS-agnostic, bringing the mobile experience up to par with PC gaming a few years back.  It’s a huge drive for mobile gaming, and it’s centered around mobile devices, like Samsung’s.
Marc Gumpinger, Scoreloop CEO, states, “As a social gaming infrastructure partner, Scoreloop will bring its expertise and connected technology to every bada game developer. Extending the Scoreloop ecosystem to bada brings the mobile gaming market one step closer to connected, making it easier and more attractive for developers to go cross platform. Support across a wide range of devices and features such as in-app purchases makes this platform particularly interesting for developers.”

Teaming directly with a manufacturer is yet another way for Scoreloop to expand its own network, centering activity around its platform in order to extend a seamless and unified experience.  As others, like handset makers, desire to offer their own app marketplaces for advertising and direct monetization, they’ll need an outlet such as the one Scoreloop provides.

It puts Scoreloop in a better position as well, since the company already has its own virtual currency and exchange system.  It’s something Facebook is prepping to contend with, driving the mobile market with constant access and easy payment options for on-the-go access.
