Apple Dominates Holiday Present Surveys; iPad Tops Kids’ Tech Wishlist

Apple Inc.’s iPad is the strongest contender when talking about gifts for holidays. This has been one of the conclusions reached by a survey conducted recently. These survey will direct parents which tech aisle to go to this Black Friday and Christmas.

More than 31% of kids aged 6 to 12 have responded that this coming holiday season, iPad will make them extremely fulfilled. iPad leads all devices in this particular age group of American kids. Computer places second with 29% and is tied with another Apple creation—iPod Touch. It is quite remarkable that iPod touch outpaces perennial gaming favorites like Nintendo DS and Sony Playstation. All gaming consoles are also seen in tight competition with other mobile phone devices.

Electronic upgrades will seem to dominate the charts in the next 6 months as the trend of the survey dictates. Future interests in commonly owned devices have topped the ages 13 and up category in the same survey. Top 3 includes computer, television set and smartphones (non-iPhones). New players like Blu-Ray and e-Reader has drawn attention as teenagers places these gadgets in the number 4 and 5 position respectively. iPad still remained strong at 4th place.

It is a very interesting study because after women, kids tend to be the next huge target for demographic advertising. Furthermore, the results clinging to tech gadgets are brought about by the fact the children today are raised with computer and connected technology—a first for any previous generation. These things surely affect their interest in consumerism.
