Motorola Acquires Zecter, Media Accessibility Increases

Motorola Mobility, part of Motorola enterprise, announced today the acquisition of Zecter Inc, a developer in virtual file system technologies and media cloud computing.

Zecter is known for its products ZumoCast and ZumoDrive, which optimizes the media file synchronization between PC, handsets, tablets and websites.  Motorola’s deal looks to be a media-oriented one, a strategy for maintaining content distribution in the fast pace of the mobile environment.

Several phones manufacturers and service providers are expanding the media portals they offer directly, but Motorola is determined to increase the cloud components enhancement.

Christy Wyatt, the corporate vice president of software and services, appreciated the market’s demand for media content and instant access as immediate:

“Consumers want seamless access to their content and media from wherever they are, while content providers want to ensure that content remains protected and secure.  We believe that Zecter enables that seamless experience with the necessary security measures, and we are delighted to be able to work with this team.

Recently, Motorola Mobility integrated in their plans for consumers control and information in the digital hemisphere the acquisition of 4Home – a software package well known developer for software services platforms.

The mother-company, Motorola Inc shaken hands with Aloqa GmbH in order to improve their location based products. Aloqua team is considered to be an extension to Motorola Mobility division. The new wing of Motorola will also bring its wealth of knowledge into the development of Motoblur.
