NudgeMail gCal Update Brings Personal Management to Google Apps

NudgeMail is launching a new integration tool for Gmail, in particular for Google Calendar and gCal. Nudgemail enables users to add events to Google Calendar by simply sending an e-mail with a relevant title (e.g. “Feb 12:Call mom”, “Next week: Follow up call with Adam”).

“The NudgeMail to Google Calendar integration takes the amazing simplicity of NudgeMail and delivers it into gCal, with only a single click to join the two together.”

The new integration also enables users to schedule ‘Nudgemails’ sent to them via SMS using gCal. Nonetheless, while NudgeMail certainly has its benefits, its pricing was not yet disclosed and it currently doesn’t support attachment files. Moreover, users can’t manage reminders within Google Calendar, but the tool definitely has some potential, arriving with its first public version.

The service can be exported to other e-mail services as well.

The release of NudgeMail comes shortly after the launch of Amazon Simple Email Service, a premium bulk e-mail service. NudgeMail of course comes after other updates related to G-mail, including the ability to turn off the previously fixed “Conversation View” option.

On the more social and relationship management aspect of e-mail, there’s some growing competition from social networks, including the recently released Facebook Mail. SiliconANGLE was there the day the service launched and gave the angle on the news, and we also covered an update Gist when the social e-mail service launched a new sidebar for Firefox.
