Mobile Video is Surging with Libox, Thwapr and the U.S. Congress

The mobile video space is a surging one, and everybody seems to be interested in jumping on this growing in value bandwagon. That includes Libox, a free media sharing service that announced a major update to its iPhone app. The app now eliminates the need for video recipients to download LIBOX’s desktop version only the LIBOX iPhone app, which now utilizes temporary cloud caching.

“- LIBOX completely overhauled the interface to the original iPhone app for easier and cleaner navigation

– Added support for even more audio and video formats across the LIBOX platform

– Introduced a number of bug fixes”

Libox is not the only mobile video app we’ve seen in the past couple days. Scalable mobile media delivery platform MobiTV announced it has added support for the T-Mobile Dell Streak 7 tablet. This comes after a partnership with the Mobile Content Venture to build an app unifying IP and broadcast together.

Continuing with mobile video sharing apps, start-up Thwapr announced it is releasing a related iPhone app on Monday which will support up to 30 minute-long videos.

Moving away from media sharing to the political front, Visible Vote, a free application that connects voters and elected officials announced its first mobile app for Android, iPhone and BB: Visible Vote 2.2. The app will enable Congressmen to connect with their voters via live video.

Earlier, we have the SiliconANGLE on the arrival of Skype’s Android version to Japan via a partnership with KDDI, and the update Comcast released for its video streaming iPad app.
