Citrix VOP & CTO Joins Atlantis Computing Advisory Board

Bernard Harguindeguy, chairman and CEO of Atlantis Computing , a company that providers virtual desktop environment (VDI) storage and performance optimization solutions has sent out a letter announcing that Citrix’s Harry Labana has joined the company’s Advisory Board. Labana is VP and chief technology officer for Citrix desktop and application virtualization.

“Harry’s perspective as both a leader in the desktop virtualization market and as a technologist who has architected many solutions in that space will be a strong asset to us as we continue delivering solutions that help accelerate the adoption of virtual desktops in small and large enterprises.”

Labana joined Citrix in 2009, and is head of the virtualization company’s flagship product line-up. In his letter, Harguindeguy highlighted the central position Laban plays in Citrix’s operations, implying that his contribution to the Atlantis Computing Advisory Board will be notably valuable to the company.

There has been an executive shakeup going for the past few months in the clodu space, and Harry Labana is the latest member to join a long list of new and former employees. Less than 48 hours ago, QLogic also made a similar announcement to that of Atlantis. Jean Hu has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the networking company, effective immediately.

A bit earlier, Cisco dismissed 2 executives. This development came shortly after CEO John Chambers released a memo indicating that the networking giant is planning to seriously revamp its operations – which includes staffing. Now, Nawaf Bitar, former Cisco vice president of security engineering and operations serves as VP and general manger Technologies at Juniper Networks. Debra Chrapty, former SVP and general manager of Cisco’s collaboration business, is now employed by Zynga.

Another notable hire comes from Apple, who is building what is expected to be one of the biggest datacenters in the world. The newly hired Kevin Timmons will supervise the North Carolina facility.
