The tablet space is heating up as manufacturers and platform makers are becoming more and more competitive with their offerings. As a consequence, the market is evolving, and tablets are gradually invading the office – not to mention the apps. So this week we’ve looked into and rounded up five of some of the most handy iPad and Android tablet business apps out there:
iPad
Omni Invoice lets users to create and send invoices from the iPad, and greatly simplifies the process. Invoices can be created in seconds, and users can choose to add a company logo to them, add payment terms, use different currencies and calculate in other financial and tax-related factors.
GoodReader is a popular PDF reader, and the number one non-Apple app for iPad in the U.S in 2010. GoodReader can sync with iDisk, Dropbox, SugarSync and other cloud storage services, supports a great deal of formats in addition to just PDF and can handle, manage and transfer pretty large files.
Office² HD is a document app which lets users edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files on the iPad. The app comes with about 120 functionalities including Google Docs & iDisk integration, as well as wireless printing and some advanced editing features.
Android
PhoneMyPC is a VPN app supporting Honeycomb as well as earlier versions of Android. It has a fairly simple interface, and the tablet-optimized app also comes with a number of other features. Users are able to look through their PC’s (running XP or higher) webcam, and more.
gPanel Mobile for Google Apps Administration
gPanel Mobile for Google Apps Administration is an app which lets a Google Apps admin to manage their office’s Google cloud remotely, right from their Android tablet.
