EMC and Cisco Launch Cloud Center in Bangalore

EMC and Cisco have reportedly launched their Cloud Experience Centres’ in Bangalore, India. The EMC Centre of Excellence and at the Cisco Globalization Centre East are located in a twin facility, and are designed to accelerate research and let Indian customers test drive cloud infrastructure solutions offered by the two companies.

“Manoj Chugh, President of EMC India and SAARC, said: “The labs established in Bangalore by EMC and Cisco is a live test bed for customers to come in and validate their business cases in a live environment.”

Both EMC and Cisco, as well as many other tech companies, are very keen on expanding operations oversee, thanks to the fact cloud adoption is gaining a huge amount of momentum on a global scale. Naresh Wadhwa, President and Country Manager, Cisco India & SAARC said something similar, continuing in a statement that “partnership with EMC reinforces our commitment to help customers accelerate adoption of this phenomenal trend in IT.”

EMC and Cisco are making use of their own offerings to accelerate innovation, something Google and others companies are practicing as well. Leveraging the cloud is a very popular trend in the enterprise space as a whole these days, and drives a lot of demand which Cisco, for once, has been very effective at monetizing.

The networking giant, currently reorganizing its business strategy, recently overtook Dell as the third largest provider of blade servers. Further, an IDC report elaborates, with an estimate that Cisco products account for about 10 percent of all blade servers on the market.

Cisco is not the only one to monetize this trend. Hewlett-Packard, currently ahead of Cisco as the no. 2 largest server provider, has gained a sizable number of customers, thanks to its acquisition of cloud storage company 3PAR last year. Among them is $2 billion securities firm Samuel A. Ramirez & Co.
