Location Rides High for Business Tablet Apps: Best of iOS and Android

The tablet business apps scene is getting pretty hot as more users begin to unlock the potential of the tablet in the workspace, and more developers are responding by developing some increasingly handy applications. This week we’ve rounded up the top five iPad and Android tablet apps for business users:

iOS

Stay.com

The third and freshly released version of Stay.com adds even more to the existing features of the travel guide app. Users can now search their map for locations and add them to their guides using a Google Maps integration, and will be able to do even when versions 3.1 and 3.2 will be rolled out.  Great for business-people on the go, or just mobile workers that like to travel!

Jack Nicklaus’ Guide to the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional C.C.

Many business professionals make deals over a good game of golf.  This app brings a perspective, story and guides to some of the biggest golf championships in the world. It offers users the opportunity to take more than just a glimpse into the tournaments, and offers video synopsis, view options from the golf legend, and more.  There’s an iPhone Android version of this app as well.

Cortado Workplace

Cortado Workplace is a featured cloud locker service that allows users an encrypted means of uploading files from their PC or Mac, and then access them from the iPad. Features include cloud printing over WiFi, Scan-to-PDF and integration with some popular iOS productivity apps.

Android

Box.net

While currently limited, popular business cloud storage service Box.net offers Android tablet support including some devices running Honeycomb. Box.net lets users configure their cloud and upload just about every file format later accessible from just about every major operating system.

Yellowbook Mobile

Yellowbook Mobile wanted to be one of the first local search directories to launch an Android tablet version of its app, and it did in fact reach that goal. The app offers users functions such as voice search, integration with Google Maps and Street View for enhanced augment reality features and more.
