Google Set to Purchase Hulu. Free Movies, TV, and Less Data Usage.

Youtube huluThere’s another whisper in the wind.  Google is rolling it’s eyes toward Hulu.  Potentially, could be a full blown replacement for YouTube.  It’s crazy talk,  but YouTube has movies and so does Hulu.  It could set Google up as a “buddy” next to Netflix.

“Google Inc. is in preliminary talks to buy online video pioneer Hulu.  The techy heavyweight champions are seeking to take a big chomp out of online video with an intention to take the position of viewers who watch television shows, movies and short videos on computers, mobile devices and Internet-connected television sets.

“Walt Disney Co. and News Corp.,  renewed licensing agreements to make Hulu more jaw dropping for a sale. Cable and satellite distributors have complained about paying for the right to carry programs that Hulu offered free online,” reports the L.A. Times.

This would take Google to amazing heights if this process gets completed.  With Google+, Hulu, and YouTube together, I can’t think of a website apart from Google anything that would be necessary to visit too often.

Hulu isn’t even my favorite site to use, because you can find tons of archived television on YouTube anyway.  In a recent post,  I mentioned how we have to manage our data efficently.   It’s not necessary to visit both sites, when the content could be merged to be more efficient in data usage.
