Springpad Pragmatism Shines Through iOS Notifications

Are you searching for a power tool that can assist you, organizing your technologically enhanced life? Well, you’ve got a great deal of options. Windows users can look to the expensive prospect of utilizing OneNote, which transformed online image clipping and note organization to the PC. Other people are quite attracted to Evernote, which took a number of the features which make OneNote so appealing and put them online for free. For quite a while, both of these options happen to be the focus of the world’s note-taking attention, but new competitors are quickly developing around that challenge of their popularity in the industry. And this includes Springpad, which within the last two years is a growing favorite of countless computer and mobile users for general, everyday note organization.

Springpad is a free service for saving anything you want to remember, on the web and on the go, and they now introduce notification support for their iPhone and iPad apps, giving you more ways to remember the things you save. With Springpad, you can create to-do lists, and set reminders for yourself to increase your productivity. In addition, you can “bookmark” books, movies, or other items that have yet to be released so that you can remember to buy them later.

How does it work?

How does Springpad work? When you want to remember something you come across, just save it in Springpad, which includes the products you like, restaurants you love, books that seem interesting, wines you try at a party, things your friends recommend, or even random thoughts. Springpad will automatically organize and enhance what you save with useful information like directions, reviews, showtimes, menus, price comparisons, and links to make purchases and reservations. When you need it, it’s there for you—on your mobile device and on the web.

The updated Springpad iOS  app introduces the new features; this includes Reminders and Notifications support for iPhone and iPad apps, that are now available in the App Store. This update to the iOS apps makes it much simpler for you to remember the things you save, with the introduction of reminders, push notifications, home screen badges, alarms, ‘send to phone’, and more!

Creating Reminders

Anyone can add a reminder to anything you save at Springpad. From simple tasks and events, to other things such as movies, books, recipes and shopping list. Simply create a reminder on your iPhone or iPad and receive a notification that links directly to the item you set. And since reminders are synchronizing with the web, you can create or edit reminders from the internet and still receive the notifications on your own iOS device.

Push Notifications and Home Screen Badges

Springpad reminders and alerts are made to be much more useful, with the introduction of push notifications and home screen badges, an update that brings the iOS version up to par with Springpad’s Android app.  When you set a reminder, you will instantly receive a pop-up notification directly to your iOS device. When you’ve got new reminders or alerts to be viewed, you will see a count of them on the Springpad icon on your device’s home screen.

Send to Phone Feature

An additional perk for the Springpad iOS app is the support for the popular ‘send to phone’ feature.  This works for sending an instant push directly from the Springpad web app, Springpad Chrome Extension, or Springpad Firefox extension. So, when you are headed on your way out, send a restaurant or perhaps a shopping list to your mobile phone and then you access it within seconds. Or, you might use the extension to clip an article you wish to read then send it to your iPad for quick reading during your commute.

The update also has a series of bug fixes, to be expected from any mobile app update. Springpad is looking to beat out services like Evernote by focusing on practical points of interaction with your saved data.  This essentially takes note-taking and social bookmarking to the next level, making use of your data and creating actions around it.  Mobile is key to Springpad’s ongoing development, a topic CEO Jeff Janer discusses with Kristen Nicole regarding a previous iOS update, particularly as this ties in with your personal cloud.
