QLogic: Soon to Announce Q1 Fiscal Year 2012

Over the past few months, QLogic has been on a roll.  Though the company is mostly known for fibre and infrastructure, they turned heads when they came up with the convergence of cloud computing and communication.   But as the saying goes, ‘don’t forget where you came from’, they are still sticking to their repertoire and aiming to dominate the fibre channel market.

And to top it off, they landed the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) deal in which they will provide 12000 Series switches and 7300 Series adapters for the deployment of a supercomputer known as the Tri-Laboratory Linux Capacity Cluster 2.  Their financial report reflects the effects and benefits of recent deals.

The earnings call reports that QLogic silicon products are doing extremely well. “Revenue from Silicon Products was up 51% sequentially, driven by strength in Fibre Channel, converged and 10 GigE products,” said CEO Simon Biddiscombe. “I’m also very pleased with that we achieved an operating margin of 29.5% during the fourth quarter driven by higher than expected gross margins.”

On July 28, 2011, QLogic will announce  its First Quarter Fiscal Year 2012 Results which will be followed by a conference call at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time (5:00 p.m. Eastern Time). Simon Biddiscombe, president and chief executive officer, and Jean Hu, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will host the call, which will be webcast live at http://ir.qlogic.com and www.earnings.com. Phone access will be available at (719) 457-2632,pass code: 8634537.

QLogic is proving to the world that they are something to watch out for.  With their Q4 and Fiscal year 2011 report, one can only assume that if they did not maintain this, they probably topped it off.
