SAP Extends Sybase Offering, Tops Gartner Charts

SAP, one of the leading providers of enterprise software applications, announced today that SAP value-added-resellers (VARS) are now authorized to sell Sybase enterprise mobility apps which could provide new mobile and revenue opportunities to more than 3,000 potential SAP partners. Sybase mobility apps and solutions, which include application development, device management and security, can now be sold by SAP VARS who currently sells SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Business All-in-One.

“Making Sybase solutions available through our existing reselling partners around the world allows us to reach a wider array of customers, both large and small, and allows customers to team up with the best partners to meet their distinct mobility needs,” said Friedrich Neumeyer, senior vice president, Volume Reseller and Service Partners, Global Ecosystem and Channels, SAP.

“Partners will benefit from new mobility offerings that they can monetize and use to attract new customers. Together, we can more easily offer the type of industry- and role-specific mobility solutions that meet market demands, as the ever-increasing influx of more powerful smartphones, tablets and applications capture the public’s imagination.”

As the demand for mobile and big data analysis continues growing at a rapid pace, SAP and Sybase want to be in the forefront. Last month SAP launched HANA and business intelligence products, while actively expanding overseas.

Earlier this week in a Gartner evaluation of the strategies by enterprise technology vendors which include Microsoft, Oracle and IBM, the business analytics solutions by SAP received the highest rating.

One of the primary driving forces to SAP’s win is its unified platform across varied industries. SAP solutions enable customers to expand to other industries without the need to reconstruct its core systems.  With its industries-rich portfolio, SAP has been able to provide functionality and sound solutions.

“We believe this report is underscoring SAP’s continued commitment to industries,” said Bill McDermott, co-CEO, SAP. “We are convinced that the SAP industry strategy is a key differentiator in the marketplace and one of the reasons why so many companies choose SAP as their strategic partner.”
