AppSense Continues Rapid Growth in Virtualization

Top provider of user virtualization solutions, AppSense, announced today its financial records for the fiscal year of 2011 which ended on June 30. AppSense indicated that it has achieved an overall growth of 54% increase from the previous year on its booked orders globally. Due to the company’s active innovation in the field of user virtualization technology, the company has increased its workforce by 60%.

“The remarkable growth that AppSense has experienced highlights the significant demand for user virtualization technology in the market,” said Darron Antill, CEO at AppSense.

“User virtualization has now emerged as a true category in its own right and a vital component of desktop transformation initiatives that include both PCs and mobile devices. I am proud of what we have accomplished to date and look forward to expanding into new areas such as cloud, data and mobile devices in FY2012.”

As cloud services still continuing to grow over the last few years, particularly in user virtualization, AppSense has been one of the trusted brands in providing a seamless user experience. The company takes pride in its AppSense User Virtualization Platform (UVP), which allows enterprises to have more flexible IT systems.  Just this month, AppSense further enhanced its UVP with the release of the AppSense Environment Manager Version 8.1. It boasts an improved administrative control panel, performance optimization and a completely new architecture.

One of the major highlights in AppSense for the fiscal year is the $70 million investment from Goldman Sachs last February.  The funding has helped a lot in the company’s quest for further enhancing its user virtualization solutions. In May, the company successfully completed interoperability testing on the Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) system. That same month, AppSense has been elevated from a High Potential Partner to a Managed Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner status by Microsoft Corp. All these developments have led the company to acquire a reported 50% market share in the US market.

Virtualization has recently seen strong developments outside of AppSense, as VMware rolls out its vSphere 5 lineup.  Automation is a key update for VMware’s latest launch, raising the stakes in virtualization efficiency across the industry, and  certainly gaining the attention of competitors.
