Virtualization solutions maker Citrix is the latest company to make significant staffing changes this week, introducing three new execs: Erin Hintz, Shankar Iyer and Bob Schultz.
Hintz joins Citrix from Symantec, where she led global marketing for the Norton antivirus.
“Hintz will lead go-to-market efforts for the rapidly growing Online Services Division at Citrix, which provides the company’s award-winning line of secure, easy-to-use cloud-based solutions including GoToMeeting and GoToMyPC that enable people to collaborate and work from anywhere with anyone.”
Moving on to Iyer, he’ll be serving as vice president of product development in Citrix’s Receiver and End-user Services, which encompasses the company’s popular VDI platform. Iyer joins Citrix from Cisco’s WebEx division where he was in charge of cloud applications, and served as vice VPof products and new business initiatives before the merger.
The third new executive, Bob Schulz, will become group vice president and general manager of Citrix’s desktop and application virtualization business. He’ll be responsible for Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp, and joins the company after nine years serving various management roles across Hewlett-Packard’s Enterprise Server, Storage and Networking businesses.
The three executives will be working at Citrix’s Silicon Valley headquarters.
Citrix is growing its management team in order to boost company strategy, something SAP also did this week. The German software maker appointed tech industry vet Kevin Nix to lead its OnDemand business. On the flip side of the coin, companies that are seeking to recover rather than expand are “restructuring” through a series of layoffs. AOL’s CEO released a memo yesterday in which he said he is dismissing the company’s heads of online ad sales and corporate communications. Jeff Levick , President of global advertising and strategy Lauren Hurvitz, head of corporate communications are leaving the company , in addition to HR head Kathy Andreasen.
