Egenera’s First PAN Manager Customer for HP BladeSystem

And so the good luck continues for Egenera, whose year has been very promising so far. The upward streak commenced before the end of last year when the only open converged infrastructure provider launched a partner program, extending its relationships to help the company continue its scale-out.  Just a few months later, Egenera saw victory and profits in new age software distribution. It was in early April that the company first delivered PAN Manager on HP Blades and from there, they started crawling their way up the stack.

PDRI, an innovative human capital and e-learning solutions provider in the cloud, taps Egenera‘s PAN Manager software for HP BladeSystems, to concur their goal in modernizing one their corporate data centers. PDRI is part of the bigger SHL umbrella.

Vice President of Product Management at Egenera Dan Busby expressed his excitement for this new-found partnership and stated what good they will bring to PDRI, saying, “We’re excited to partner with PDRI on this company-wide IT modernization initiative.

“This program significantly advances PDRI’s competitive advantage and market leadership. Max and his team had a clear vision for how they wanted to transform their IT infrastructure and quickly concluded that Egenera’s PAN Manager Software, together with HP BladeSystem, delivered the performance, protection and agility to meet current needs and immediately respond to growth opportunities and requirements.”

At the other end is Max Gonzalez, PDRI’s IT Director, who is also ecstatic about the team-up: “The combination of Egenera and HP perfectly fit the bill. HP BladeSystem is a high-performing, dependable converged infrastructure platform and Egenera PAN Manager Software gives us unprecedented control of that converged infrastructure across multiple locations.”

This is a big boost to the company’s end goals, as Egenera is going up against big names in data management and recovery platforms. This is also a time to aggressively attack the market and take advantage of the opportunities presented, as one of the biggest names in the industry is ailing. Cisco has recently released their business continuity plans, which include a round of layoffs, and austerity blueprints in order to sustain and revive the enterprise. Dell is also in the process of recuperating, but is showing stronger comeback, along with the recent launch of its latest OpenStack infrastructure offering.

Amidst the looming IT crisis, Egenera remains sturdy with various upgrades in their system. The support that they will provide PDRI will empower the organization to thrive with increasing demands and requirements from its customers, alongside growth.
