Apple Gearing Up A New Line Of Macs, Cheaper iPhone 4 And iPhone 5? Release

As HP continues to shock everyone with marked down tablets, a new desktop and a new health contract, Apple is not just going to sit in the corner and allow HP to get all the attention.

In a move that really shakes things up, leaked information about a new line of Macs surfaced.  A blog post on the Japanese website, macotakara.jp, stated that an anonymous source from an Asian supplier said that Apple is preparing for a new line of Macs which will be absolutely different from current products, and could be given a new product name. This new line is rumored to be released by the end of this year.

Some are speculating that the new line of products could drop the OS X and use iOS instead.  And since touch interface devices are so popular right now, the new product could even come with that instead of the Magic Trackpad.  Apple’s Thunderbolt technology is also something that might be incorporated in the new product line.  Or maybe they’ll make something like the new HP Compaq Desktop 8200 that boasts of power but won’t take up too much physical space.

There is also a rumor of a cheaper iPhone 4 that will be released in the coming weeks.  According to Reuters, a source stated that the cheaper iPhone 4 will have a smaller 8GB flash drive which is being manufactured by a Korean company.   Aside from the small flash drive, no additional information was given as to whether the cheaper iPhone 4 will be revamped in some ways.

As for the much awaited iPhone 5, rumors of cheaper iPhone 4 devices only fan the flames around its pending release date.  The device is also rumored to be able to support multiple networks such as CDMA and GSM which may mean that the new iPhone will not be an LTE device.  Qualcomm is also rumored to replace Intel as the baseband supplier for the iPhone 5.

The rumor wheel house is churning faster as Google sets out to update its Honeycomb OS, HP’s webOS still has an eye on the mobile device market, and smartphones continue to revel in Android’s accessibility.  With the holiday shopping season nearing, anticipation is bubbling over for any news Apple’s willing to give.
