RockYou To Slide: Look Who’s Still Standing?

RockYou, the company that brings games and advertising into the social media realm, is partnering with Peak Games, a fast-growing gaming company that’s been taking over Turkey and looking to expand.  With the partnership, Peak Games will adopt RockYou’s Facebook games to make it more accessible to gamers in Turkey, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region while maintaining the quality of the game experience.

Peak Games has already experienced great success both in Turkey and the MENA region, as they have brought culturally-specific games that cemented their foothold here.  Peak Games will be responsible for handling localization, marketing, user acquisition, customer support, and community management of RockYou’s Zoo World 2.  Peak Games will be incorporating both Turkish and Modern Arabic language, and culturally specific enhancements into the game for each region.

“Working with RockYou enables us to bring engaging games to Turkey and MENA expanding the Zoo World community,” said Sidar Sahin, CEO of Peak Games.  “We have a deep understanding of our markets and we’re able to tailor the game and offer support according to our audience’s expectations and needs.”

RockYou and Slide have long fought for the top spot in Facebook’s social gaming scene.  And with Google’s termination of Slide, RockYou is left standing tall and proud.  With Turkey’s huge population of internet users and a high credit card penetration, together with the Peak Games partnership, RockYou will be able to tap into this market to reap the rewards of a freshly minted gaming market.  Peak Games’ culture-sensitive approach will surely add more players to the already massive Zoo World 2 community.

“We realize that the best global approach is made up of a series of local approaches,” commented Josh Grant, RockYou’s SVP and GM of Studio Partners.  “So we’ve chosen the strongest partner for these regions in Peak Games: experts who can ensure that our games cater to their culture and audience through proper localization.”
