NuCaptcha Goes Mobile, Takes On Security’s Last Frontier

NuCaptcha, the “Human-Friendly” Captcha service, announced its Captcha solutions for mobile devices, available for all mobile platforms including Android and iOS platforms. The newly optimized mobile Captchas provide a better fit and faster loading times on mobile devices.  For example, when a user clicks on a mobile touch screen to solve a Captcha, it will fit perfectly into the space left by the keyboard so that the Captcha can be quickly and easily completed. NuCaptcha does not require Flash or JavaScript; and the company expects to release the HTML5 mobile version of its Captcha technology in early Q4 2011.

Marketers and publishers using NuCaptcha have the option to automatically adopt and optimize security across all of their properties to provide a consistent user experience on multiple devices.

“If you think Captchas are indecipherable on the Web, just try completing them on mobile. We’re now at a point of infliction and a more functional solution is not “nice to have” – it’s critical,” stated Christopher Bailey, CTO and Co-Founder of NuCaptcha Inc. “Rather than inflicting pain on users, our system ramps up as needed for real threats: So, we’re able to provide a better experience for users and state-of-the art security.”

Big data for mobile security

NuCaptcha’s simpler interface is designed to retain users on a site and help them “pass through security” as fast and painlessly as possible.  Aimed at marketers and publishers looking for a user-friendly alternative, the service requires users to type in as few as three legible letters, typically done in under three seconds, but can quickly ramp up to eight letters, if threats are detected through The NuCaptcha Behavior Analysis System for video-based Captcha (BAS).

BAS detects unusual behavior and can increase the complexity of the Captcha and slow down the video, making it more time-consuming and less financially feasible for both bots and human-farms to solve Captcha in high volumes.  The dynamic security system can change the security level on a per-user basis, in real-time.  As NuCaptcha’s network of sites expands, the BAS receives a network effect, growing smarter and faster at detecting threats as millions of Captchas are solved through the system every month.

The recently updated NuCaptcha monitors every action in its network as more websites contribute more data to their research.  Providing clients this pertinent information is vital for website security at the enterprise level which NuCaptcha addressed with their BAS which extends to their enterprise product offering, integrating with their own security applications or running as its own security option.  A company can then get a score on attacks, recommendations on what type of Captcha combo to use, and other points of analysis in real-time.

Built on The NuCaptcha Security Platform, the service provides a unique combination of video and intelligent security technology that safeguards websites for humans while keeping machines away.
