The Gamers’ Holiday Wish List Starts with These

Even with more than 80 days until Christmas, people are already thinking about what they want to get from Santa this year.  No matter what your age is, you probably want to get a gadget this holiday season, and entertainment is one medium that dominates the gadget world.  So let’s take a look at what these gaming companies have to offer for the holidays.

Sony

We already know that the PS Vita will be coming out in Japan by December 17.  But with all the hype surrounding the game console, some people are already saying that by the time it does come out, it will be outdated.  As for the PS3, they’re enticing gamers with their latest game ad dubbed as Long Live Play, a two-minute ad starring characters from the PlayStation 3’s most popular titles which are played by live actors.

Nintendo

Nintendo recently released the DS Flame Red SKU last September to lure gamers.  And now, they’re adding two more hues to their line.  Ice White and Misty Pink will soon bring some color to the Nintendo DS family of game devices.  By October 20, the Misty Pink will be available, and the point of adding this fun color is to get more female gamers to buy their gadget, which will sell for ¥15,000/US$195.  The Ice White version will be available by November 3 at the same price.  One post suggests that the reason for releasing a white version is to trick people into thinking that they’re buying a mini-Macbook.

Microsoft

The much awaited and almost mythical console, Xbox 720, made a cameo appearance in Hugh Jackman’s latest movie “Real Steel” due out tomorrow, October 7.  The console is seen in the trailer of the movie.  It looks like Microsoft is creating more hype around the game box, which will become an integral part of Microsoft’s cloud-based and social initiatives moving forward.

Games

Nintendo will release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on November 20 to commemorate the silvery anniversary of the legendary game.

EA and Crytek announced that Crysis, the critically-acclaimed, single-player campaign is now available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
