Wikinvest Launches HD iPad App for Free Portfolio Management

Today, Wikinvest, the financial technology company dedicated to creating a world of intelligent investors and empowering them to make smarter financial decisions, launched its free investment portfolio tracking app, Wikinvest Portfolio HD, for the iPad.  The app enables users to track, analyze and manage all their investments, all in one place.  Built from the ground up for the iPad, Wikinvest Portfolio HD gives investors a bird’s eye view of their investments so they can make smarter decisions.  The new app allows users to monitor all their investment accounts in one place through Wikinvest’s proprietary brokerage import technology, simple dashboards and advanced analytics.

The current number of portfolio management apps in the App Store is limited, with 75% of the 60 largest brokerage firms lacking a portfolio app for iPad. Wikinvest Portfolio HD supports over 60 of the largest brokerage firms in the US and is the only investment app on the iPad that allows investors aggregate and track all their investments in one place.

“Consumers are adopting new devices at unprecedented speeds and products like the iPad give users a rich new environment to manage their money anytime, anywhere,” said Mike Sha, CEO of Wikinvest.

“With the recent turbulence of the markets, millions of people are seeking more convenient ways to stay on top of what’s happening with their portfolios. Wikinvest Portfolio HD enables users to keep up with the rapidly evolving technology landscape and gain insight that’s often not provided to them by traditional brokerages.”

Building off the recent success of Wikinvest Portfolio for iPhone, which reportedly tracks more than three billion dollars in real assets for its users, Wikinvest’s iPad app features the same beautiful design and powerful dashboards. Wikinvest Portfolio HD also features new visual analytics to give users insight into metrics including estimated portfolio risk, true asset allocation, geographic allocation distribution, and more.

The Wikinvest platform started in 2007 and it now reaches over 10 million users each month, according to the company.  Their platform powers investing information for partners such as Forbes, NPR and USAToday.   Wikinvest Portfolio tracker leverages proprietary technology to securely aggregate account data across all the major brokerage firms so that investors can track and analyze all their savings and investment accounts in one place.

Personal finance is a growing industry in large part thanks to mobile, and a broadening set of data from the financial world.  Combined, these two contributions make for a highly personalized experience that automates much of the analysis for individual users, empowering them with new tools designed around specialized technology fit for today’s savvy user.  And it’s been a big week for personal finance and mobile payments, with Pageonce’s latest update and Fortumo’s new HTML5 initiative for cross-device support.
