Just last week, the Galaxy Nexus was finally made available in the the UK market.  According to AnanTech’s preliminary analysis, the Galaxy Nexus offers better browsing compared to the iPhone 4S, but iPhone 4S has better graphics than the Galaxy Nexus.  Th newe Ice Cream Sandwich software is responsible for the great browsing performance of the Galaxy Nexus, but because of Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR SGX 540 for the GPU, the graphics didn’t surpass the iPhone 4S’ offerings.

But graphics isn’t the issue for some Galaxy Nexus users, as some customers are bummed that it doesn’t support Flash Player as well a bug in the volume control for the device.

Adobe Flash Player Support

So here’s the funny thing; Android devices’ edge over iDevices is the Flash support.  But the new Galaxy Nexus doesn’t support Flash. It came as quite a surprise for users expecting such a high profile device to come with Flash for full browsing and game-playing capabilities.

According to an interview between SlashGear and a Google employee, the suport will come soon enough.

The Googler also added that, “Flash hasn’t been released for ICS yet so as far as we know, Adobe will support Flash for ICS.”

Volume Bug

Some consumers complained that that their devices lose its volume by itself while others complain that the volume and power buttons are often not responsive.  The problem is related to when the device is connected to 900Mhz for 2G coverage, either GPRS or EDGE, which is the connection widely used in Europe.  It is said that the problem may exist on all available devices, but some users may not encounter the problem because they are using either Wi-Fi or 3G.

People are taking out their frustrations and rage on Samsung UK’s Facebook wall.  Some users are so outraged that they’re thinking of just returning the device and ask for a refund, and not a unit replacement.

Carriers

As of now, Vodafone is still on its testing phase and have not announced a date as to when they would release the Galaxy Nexus.

“This testing is not due to the addition of Vodafone content to the device,” Vodafone rep said. “Galaxy Nexus is a Google experience device and contains no Vodafone branding.”

Verizon also hasn’t announced when they would be releasing the Galaxy Nexus in the US.  Some leaked information stated that they would be releasing the device on December 8th, and AT&T and T-Mobile would be following suit after Verizon’s release.
