Accenture Acquires Neo Metrics Analytics

Today Accenture announced that it has agreed to acquire Neo Metrics Analytics, a consulting firm based in Spain that specializes in predictive analytics. In addition to Neo Metrics’ research and development capabilities, Accenture will acquire the firm’s modeling tools, which enable users to analyze data from any data source.

Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in 30 days, were not disclosed.

Why Neo Metrics? There’s been an explosion of data things to social media and other sources, and the there’s tremendous business opportunity in analyzing all of it. Experienced data scientists are hard to come by, and the demand will likely exceed the supply.

The acquisition will bolster Accenture’s ability to analyze social network data and provide data science services and work with big data, so this is a smart move on Accenture’s part.
