Revolution Analytics Finds a New CEO

Revolution Analytics, a maker of analytics software powered by the R statistical programming language, announced a major staffing change at the very core of the company’s leadership.  Dr. Norman Nie will continue to serve as a director and a Senior Advisor for Products and Strategy for the new chief exec, David Rich.

Rich Joins Revolution from Accenture Analytics, where he worked for 28 years and most recently as global managing director for the company. He can be credited with a lot of Accenture’s growth over the years across the several vectors which he covered in his work, including company strategy, partnerships, investments and product development.

His three decades of experience in the tech industry make for a very good resume, as well as enough credentials to be featured in several publications.  It’s all earned him a spot with Revolution, a player in the increasingly crowded analytics industry that’s looking for a lot of growth.

The previous CEO issued a statement published in an official release by Revolution.

“Revolution Analytics is primed for a different set of proven leadership abilities—someone with the knowledge and relationships to accelerate large-scale adoption of the company’s first-class products within the world’s biggest and most innovative enterprises,” said Norman Nie. “David has the vision, energy, career experience required to bring the company to the next level. Together, we believe our collaboration we help revolutionize the industry in the best interest of our customers.”

The company is looking in all sorts of directions to boost its momentum, including staffing changes and crowdsourcing. It recently announced the winners in its big data contest that required candidates to submit an app written on their platform. The winners received credit and cash awards, and Revolution gained code that it will potentially be able to make use of further down the road.
