ScaleXtreme Offers Cloud-based Automation Service

ScaleXtreme, a maker of automation solutions for enterprise deployments, is rolling out its ScaleXtreme Xpress platform to select users, focusing on minimizing the resources that go towards patching servers.

The company says that Xpress supports both Windows and Linux, and works in many different environments whether in a remotely-hosted cloud or physical servers. It enables users to setup scans optimally – i.e., schedule them to go off during maintenance periods to avoid any additional and unnecessary downtime.

“Many customers are holding back on moving their servers to the public cloud due to the lack of effective security solutions,” said Nand Mulchandani, ScaleXtreme CEO and co-founder. “We make it easy for customers to bring long-running, stateful servers into the public cloud, where they can be managed like any other server in the enterprise. Customers can also use our solutions to manage their internal physical and virtual servers on demand, from the cloud.”

ScaleXtreme has been steadily strengthening its portfolio and ecosystem, poising itself for more growth down the road.  One of the latest initiatives that fit in this category arrived in the form of the Cloud Service Provider Program launched earlier this month – an incentive plan for CSPs that may be interested in integrating ScaleXtreme into their respective portfolios.  This news came about thee weeks after ScaleXtreme rolled out an update to Xpress.

The platform, which is available in free and commercial editions, offers cloud-based database automation. The newest version, made available last month, features enhancements to the user-interface added with more efficiency in mind: all the controls are now available from a single consolidated dashboard, which empowers users via greatly improved navigation. It’s all been simplified to make admins’ jobs somewhat easier.
