IncrediBuild-XGE Speeds Up Virtual Working Environments

Virtualization has enabled a new way of working and BYOD is steadily going mainstream. These growing trends have spawned companies like Xoreax, a provider of software acceleration technology to eliminate lagging in virtual working environments.

Xoreax recently unveiled its new signature product: IncrediBuild-XGE. This answers customers’ need for picking up the pace of their application run-time. IncrediBuild XGE is a software-based, distributed computing solution that accelerates time-intensive computational processes, transforming PCs and servers into a private computing cloud. It enables utilization of unused computing power to create a “Virtual Supercomputer” minus the need for additional resources. From Xoreax:

“XGE technology transforms a network of regular office PCs and servers into a cloud in which every node – from user workstations to dedicated servers – contributes unutilized processing power to form a dynamic, accessible and fault-tolerant HPC environment, eliminating the need for expensive, dedicated computer farms and radically lowering ongoing maintenance costs.

“IncrediBuild-XGE allows applications to take advantage of unutilized CPU and GPU resources on the network and can also scale out to public clouds. IncrediBuild-XGE’s distributed computing architecture accelerates computational processes running on MS Windows, allowing them to become “grid-enabled” with near-zero implementation costs and without changes to source code or architecture.”

Even as a standalone product, IncrediBuild-XGE is a proven technology. It’s the fundamental platform behind IncrediBuild’s acceleration platform, reportedly used by more than 100,000 users across 2,000 organizations such as Google, Microsoft, eBay, Electronic Arts, CitiGroup and NVIDIA.

Growing virtualization trends

VMware is also large about virtualization. It recently unveiled an impressive feature called WSX that will allow users to access virtualized desktops remotely via any modern Web browser. The innovation is courtesy of VMware developer Christian Hammond, who demonstrated the prototype this week. It’s built on standards-based Web technologies such as HTML5 Canvas Element and Web Sockets.

Cisco, meanwhile, rides on the coattails of the BYOD trend as it expands its services to enable companies to manage and secure private mobile devices used by employees at work. This is vital since mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, USB drivers and laptop can be an gateway for malware and data loss.

The company is also promoting its Identity Service Engine, designed for self-provisioning of devices and policy integration with mobile device management solutions across VPN ,along with wired, wireless, and cellular networks. It will enhance visibility over endpoint access, remotely wipe lost or stolen devices and prohibit access to jailbroken devices.

Cisco has also taken measures beyond basic BYOD connectivity to build a better work environment. According to the Cisco Connected World Technology Report, over 40 percent of college students and young employees would accept lower-paying job with more device flexibility and mobility than a higher-paying job without those perks. Building security alongside the BYOD trend is crucial as employees become increasingly demanding in using their own devices at work.
