Copperegg Updates Real-Time Monitoring SaaS

Copperegg has just revealed the newest release of its RevealCloud real-time monitoring software-as-a-service.

The company proclaims its client base is in the hundreds range, deployed across thousands of servers, thanks to several advantages its product includes to differentiate itself from alternatives.  Installation and setup is supposed to be pretty simple–there are customized alerts to automatically notify admins of any specific system changes, and the whole thing is pay-per-use, meaning Copperegg only charges for actual monitored usage.

Version 3 adds to all that by introducing some new features, mainly the fact performance metrics have been extended to include processes on top of CPU usage, I/O, memory etc. The numbers are refreshed every five seconds and displayed on the improved interface, which has been made even more consolidated.

“We are very pleased with the addition of real-time process monitoring in RevealCloud, said Ben Weatherman, co-founder of Ordoro. Previously, RevealCloud could tell us that memory usage was running high. Now with process monitoring we have instance instant insight into what process is consuming memory, which even some of our non-technical folk have used to troubleshoot  a customer issue.”

Copperegg offers features such as the ability to plug into the main platform and stream the data from a mobile device, among other things. But at its core it’s essentially an analytics company, with a different angle to the same story that has been grabbing the headlines all throughout the IT industry.  Standards are being pushed higher and higher as big data increases service levels, and customer expectations.

Copperegg is one of quite a few vendors that adopted this trend, although some – such as Flow – are taking a different approach. The recently unveiled Flow Platform is a hosted data munching application that enterprises can connect to their apps.
