Real-time Reporting is Focus of Skimlinks’ New API Suite

Skimlinks, a monetization platform for web content publishers, has released a comprehensive API suite allowing publishers to learn more about their users shopping habits. The startup recently made the news when it was used by hot startup Pinterest to monetize outgoing links.

Mostly free, Skimlinks gives you access to over 18,000 affiliate programs. The idea is to facilitate and to fully automate affiliation bonds on websites or blogs.  Skimlinks recognizes the links on your site leading to merchant sites and converts them automatically into affiliated-related links.

Skimlinks has been one of the most decorated British startups in the country.  Founded by Joe Navarro and Alicia Stepniewski in 2008, Skimlinks continues to build web publisher tools around growing site demands.

The API suite consists of Link, Merchant, Reporting, and Product APIs. Link API turns links and product references into affiliate links, while the Merchant API searches and filters 18,000+ merchant lists by category and name.  The Reporting API can be used to filter and segment data based on consumers purchase behavior, and the Product API provides search capability based on product reference, category, merchant or price.

“We want to make our technology and insights available to all types of publishers, so we are opening up our platform to make it fully accessible and flexible. This is particularly exciting for startups who need a monetization partner who can help them achieve their revenue goals, without compromising on the user experience.” said Alicia Navarro, CEO and co-founder of Skimlinks.

The APIs offer flexible and accessible features using Skimlinks’ core technology that allows publishers to use the program in any site or application. Publishers can now get historical as well as minute-by-minute details snapshots with 31 international affiliate networks via the Reporting API.
