VMTurbo Updates Offering, Adds Partners

VMTurbo is a company that makes some pretty sophisticated workload management software for virtualized environments. Its flagship product is VMTurbo Operations Manager, which is available in version 3.1 as of this week.

The platform works by leveraging a patented Economic Scheduling Engine, or ESE, to maintain the performance of mission critical applications. The model allocates resources and capacity based on priority using a pretty nifty approach to managing infrastructure relatively to usage.

Operations Manager v3.1 extends this functionality by integrating with the application delivery control. This allows the program to better prioritize by doing load balancing depending on application demand, adding virtual machines as needed.

The APC layer is facilitated by offerings such as Netscaler virtual desktop delivery appliance, which has seen its popularity sore, according to some fresh figures from Citrix’s earnings call.

Keeping up with the market is only one of the things VMTurbo invested in lately–the developer also expanded its reseller community in an effort to push channel sales farther.

The newest participants in the VMTurbo Global Partners Program are CDW, the single largest IT VAR in NA; ePlus Technology and IDS.

“Today’s rapid increase in adoption of virtualization solutions has generated a sizeable demand within the market for knowledgeable and experienced partners capable of delivering the technical skills needed to plan, maximize and expand virtual deployments,” said Bernie Hannon, Director of Global Channels at VMTurbo. “This next phase of growth in our Global Partner Program creates even more opportunity for value-added resellers to deliver the expert assistance in virtualization management capabilities needed IT operators to manage virtual datacenters.”

The virtualization space is getting pretty interesting these days. VMware is busy fleshing out its open-source cloud strategy, which now extends beyond Cloud Foundry to OpenStack as well thanks to Piston’s work on BOSH.
