SuccessFactors Transitioning to HANA by Q3

SAP’s HANA in-memory big data appliance has come a long way in the past twelve months, and HR subsidiary SuccessFactors evidently had enough confidence in the platform to migrate its Workforce Analytics and Workforce Planning solutions.

“The benefits are immediate and real for HR executives and business leaders,” said Dmitri Krakovsky, vice president of global product management, SuccessFactors. “SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics and Workforce Planning is a pioneer in delivering the best practice metrics and benchmarks that companies need to truly understand their workforce. We can now significantly boost the access to business data, speed and performance – resulting in more insight in the hands of non-technical HR and business users.”

The cloud service provider expects the transition to complete by the third quarter of this year, with plans to make the most out of HANA’s raw performance.  And to top it off, its two business insight offerings are in fact getting two separate upgrades: the new hardware, and a number of additional features meant to further sweeten the deal.

SuccessFactors optimized its Business Execution (BizX) suite, to which Workforce Analytics and Planning belong, for the iPad with real-time dashboards designed for mobile workers. An “On-line Report Designer” is made available as well so to allow users to build custom reports and charts, and a number of industry metrics have been added as well.

The latter data allows clients to compare their performance with that of their peers, while at the same time they are also receiving access to about 2,000 trends, dashboards and other pre-made components.

SuccessFactors’ adoption of HANA is the latest sign indicating that HANA is starting to solidify its position in the market. SAP SAPphire conveyed the same message last week, with a number of case studies including T-Mobile’s.
