Objectivity Pushes Big Data in the Channel with InfiniteGraph Certification

Database software vendor Objectivity unveiled a new initiative today that’s meant to introduce partners to InfiniteGraph, a graph database that is known for being highly scalable. On top of that it’s written in Java, which means it can be used not just with modern NoSQL solutions, but also in legacy environments.

The company released a number of case studies that detail how select resellers and SIs can achieve better results by coupling Objectivty’s flagship platform, Objectivity/DB, with InfiniteGraph. Among the new options is this one:

“With demands to manage millions of objects in real time and in mission critical business environments, HM Informatik has chosen Objectivity/DB and InfiniteGraph as reliable and highly performing data management solutions. Objectivity’s long-standing presence in the market and the ongoing development of their scalable and innovative solutions ensure a perfect fit for HM Informatik’s Big Data customers.” That’s according to Alexander Thiem, the chief executive of Informatik.

Partners that want in on the action have to obtain the InfiniteGraph Certification status first, which involves a two day course that Objectivity says covers all the nuts and bolts. It involves a  “high-level overview of the product architecture/feature and benefits,” and as a follow-up the attendees are asked to write a sample app based on the knowledge that they’ve gained.

The NoSQL database technology has been a key part of Objectivity’s business, and now the firm decided that it’s time to extend that accomplishment to the channel.

Not too long ago the vendor revealed 14 of its biggest customers as an attempt to further validate this point. Apparently the U.S. Navy and the Department of Defense, along with healthcare giant McKesson are only a few of those high profile clients, and InfiniteGraph’s portability was one of the key factors that they named.
