100 New Features for Dragon: Speak to Your Computer “Naturally”

Nuance Communications, Inc. released the new version of their speech recognition software, the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.  Nuance claims that it is the fastest, most accurate and easy-to-use version of Dragon that comes with more than 100 new features and enhancements that will convince you to make the shift from typing to talking.

The new version brings Dragon technology to PCs so users can perform anything on their computer, like update their Facebook status, type on Word, surf the web and a lot more, by just talking.

It’s also been improved for Gmail and Hotmail, with Full Text Control and commands for the most used actions in browsers like Internet Explorer 9, Mozilla Firefox 12 or higher and Google Chrome 16 or higher.

“Dragon 12 is a remarkable leap forward in voice recognition technology. With Dragon’s increased accuracy, speed and more than 100 new features and enhancements, the technology simply disappears and your ideas flow onto the screen in front of you,” said Peter Mahoney, Chief Marketing Officer for Nuance and Senior Vice President, General Manager, Dragon. “Voice is transforming the way people engage with their PCs, tablets, phones, TVs and cars. And with Nuance’s Dragon at the heart of it- people are experiencing faster, simpler, more natural ways to communicate with the world around them.”

Nuance boasts that the new version has a 20 percent improvement to out-of-the-box accuracy, performs faster, and learns your writing style the more you use it.  And if you have an Android device, as long as it’s compatible, you can turn that into a wireless mic to be used in conjunction with the new Dragon for PC.  You just need to download the free Dragon Remote Microphone App for Android and you’re good to go.

Aside from the above features mentioned, the new version also boasts of a richer help menu, full text control with Dictation Box, more ways to customize the software to better suit your needs, and new voice commands.
