Are You Willing To Pay $800 for the iPhone 5?

We’ve heard a lot of rumors regarding the iPhone 5 and some of them are quite ridiculous.  But there’s certainly no shortage of imagination.   I remember last year, rumors started flying around that the iPhone 5, which turned out to be the iPhone 4S, would be all glass and transparent.  People seriously got excited about that one, some even taunting Fandroids–too bad it was just a hoax.

According to some reliable sources, Apple will be launching the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini on September 12 and will commercially launch by September 21.  With that development, more rumors are flying around.  Have you heard one that states that the iPhone 5 will cost a whopping $800?  #800DollarsForAniPhone – this is the hashtag that’s been getting serious attention on Twitter with people saying things like, “It better be doing my homework for me… and show ALL the work!”, “SIRI: Better Find 2Pac, Solve Biggie’s Murder, Find the Real Slim Shady & Find Out What Chief Keef Likes!”, and “anytime I play music on it, the artist better pop out the iPhone and perform live.

8-Pins

As for the other rumors, you already know about the smaller dock pin, a 19-pin dock connector in place of the 30-pin.  But a new rumor surfaced stating that the iPhone 5 will have even smaller dock – an 8-pin dock connector.  iLounge stated that their sources claimed that the new iPhone will “feature other design innovations, potentially including the ability to be connected to docks and cables in either orientation (like MagSafe).” Another source explained this to iLounge stating that “the male connector has 8 pins on each side, while the female connector has only 8 pins on one side. This enables the iPhone/iPod/iPad (with female port) to connect to either side of a male cable or docking plug.” The point is, you won’t have to worry about plugging the cord the right way even in the dark.

iLounge also mentioned that it will have iOS 6, as previously rumored, and Bluetooth 4.0.  Other rumors include: in-touch display panels for a slimmer device, a larger 4-4.6 inch screen, 19-pin dock connector, quad core processor, LiquidMetal casing, 8MP or higher rear camera with 2MP front camera, smaller SIM slot, redesigned speaker grills, NFC technology, and nano SIM.
