Actifio’s PAS 20T Makes Copy Data Software Affordable For All

Actifio launched its new PAS (Protection and Availability Storage) 20T, which was designed to be affordable and easy to use, even for single person IT shops.

PAS 20T is a single application that allows you to manage data applications including: backup, snapshot, disaster recovery, business continuity and test and development. You’ll be able to navigate your way to SLAs defining snapshot frequency, storage type, retention policy and replication with just one simple point-and-click and then tie application data in VMware and physical server environments to the SLAs.

This brand new application is a complete storage system, which means it’s both hardware and software. And what makes it so cool is the fact that you can recover up to 20TB of application data, for about 90 percent less than the cost of a complicated mix of siloed data protection and availability applications.

“These users are frustrated by the cost, complexity, and recovery delays of the traditional approach, struggling with backup windows that keep them from delivering on their own SLAs. With Actifio these organizations can deliver an RTO measured in seconds instead of hours or even days, while spending less to manage copy data than they are today,” said Actifio CEO Ash Ashutosh.

Actifio’s PAS platform has been a hot seller on the market since its debut last year. Hundreds of customers have installed the program, including Boston University Medical Center, City of South Portland and Jones & Bartlett Learning.

According to recent reports, backup and recovery are two hot topics at VMworld right now, which is probably due to the fact that these two topics are not confined to the IT world and marketing. It affects all aspects of a company. Business owners are able to keep tabs on their employees and also back up and store data needed in order to be successful.
