Fliptop, Dell Launch New Offerings at Dreamforce ‘12

Partners are assembling at Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce gathering held this week, and a few already unveiled their major updates around the cloud-based CRM service.

Fliptop is launching new capability called Social Profiles for Salesforce, which automatically adds the Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn profiles of the people in your CRM system to the other data that’s already stored on the platform.

“Fliptop’s Social Profiles for Salesforce app makes it easy for sales, marketing and support folks to have more personal interactions and keep in touch with customers even if their email or phone number changes,” said Doug Camplejohn, CEO and Founder of Fliptop.   “The app requires no manual data entry – social handles are automatically added to all Leads and Contacts in your Salesforce.com instance.”

Social Profiles will be made-available as a standalone app with a monthly rate of $19 per user.

At the same time, Dell is launching a new suite of services specifically targeted at Salesforce customers. The vendors is looking to help companies just getting started with the SaaS to set things up, integrate Salesforce into their existing environment and customize it to suite their particular needs. This per-client tailoring option is accomplished using a combination of Dell services, software and other solutions.

While their ecosystem is trying to better capitalize on the cloud, Salesforce itself is also making sure to stay ahead of the curve. The latest addition to the SaaS provider’s already long line-up is Chatterbox, a cloud locker service that – if nothing else – builds on its developer’s existing reputation.

Chatterbox, which also launched at Dreamforce, will have a much easier time competing than Box, Dropbox and the dozens of other services out there. The reason is that the main selling point is not yet another gimmicky feature, but rather the simplicity of having another part of your infrastructure powered by the same vendor that provides the CRM system and internal social network.
