Alteryx Adds Cloud Uplink with New Analytics Platform
Big data firm Alteryx debuted Alteryx Strategic Analytics 8.0, the latest version of its flagship product. The new release introduces Alteryx 8.0, an internal app marketplace that gets the decision makers back in the loop.
The new feature is addressing a few major trends in IT: the cloud, social enterprise and data virtualization.
The social enterprise aspect is represented by collaboration features that enable users to curate business applications, share them and publish best practices for others to view. These capabilities are coupled by no less than five drag-and-drop predictive analytics tools that focus on fitting data into time series charts that can display financial information and mathematical patterns.
The third notable feature of Analytics Gallery is that it comes with a native Salesforce connector. This means user organizations can integrate new data streams into Alteryx, such as social media sources, spreadsheets and other information they may be storing in the cloud.
“The rapid adoption of Cloud technology is fundamentally changing the nature of application development and the way organizations take advantage of business applications,” said Jeffrey M. Kaplan, managing director of THINKstrategies, Inc. and founder of the Cloud Computing Showplace. “Alteryx Strategic Analytics is harnessing the power of the Cloud to enable business end-users and executives to generate and share valuable analytics to deliver strategic value across an organization.”
According to the Alteryx Gallery will feature 30 apps on launch. Each of these addresses a specific area across a number of different industries including marketing and telecommunications.
Alteryx is not the only BI firm that’s targeting specific verticals with its analytics solution. Last week SAP unveiled a new big data solution for retailers that’s built on top of its HANA in-memory database and NetWeaver, a management platform for web applications.
