Apple to launch iPad Mini today

Today’s the day Apple fans have been waiting for.  The California Theater is all set for today’s Apple Special Event, and we’ll just have to wait a few hours to see what the fruity company has been hiding up their sleeves.  But if Apple’s wall of secrecy has really fallen as it did with the iPhone 5, then we’ll surely see an iPad Mini, a new Mac Mini and a 13” Mac Book appear during the event.

We’ll keep you guys posted as to what Apple will be revealing.  The event starts at 10:00 a.m. Pacific / 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

Isis Mobile Wallet rolls out

AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile’s mobile wallet offering, Isis, has been launched in Austin and Salt Lake City and they are happy to announce that a lot of devices are compatible to use with the Mobile Wallet.

“The launch of the Isis Mobile Wallet in Austin and Salt Lake City represents a milestone for both Isis and the mobile-commerce industry,” said Ryan Hughes, chief marketing officer for Isis. “With as many as 20 ‘Isis Ready’ handsets headed to market by year-end, we are experiencing an unprecedented level of support for NFC and consumer choice.”

Users of Verizon’s HTC Droid Incredible 4G can use their devices to pay for goods.  All they need to do is stop by at any Verizon retail store to get a special SIM card, download the Isis app from Google Play and they’re good to go.  Support for Motorola Droid Razor HD or Razor Max will soon follow.  AT&T’s Samsung’s Galaxy S III, HTC’s One X, Samsung’s Exhilarate, LG’s Escape and Samsung’s Rugby Pro are all ready for Isis, while T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S II Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G and the HTC Amaze 4G are all set.

New version of Google Wallet coming soon

Google revamped its Google Wallet, site stating that a new version of the mobile wallet is coming soon.  Interested parties can request an invite and you will be asked to provide information regarding what type of phone you are using, if you’re using an Android, iOS or other phones.

While you wait for the new version of Google Wallet to become available, you can go ahead and set up your Google Wallet account.  You would be asked to fill in a form and provide information, including your address and your debit or credit card information.

Samsung allegedly cut supply panel for Apple

A report from Korea Times stated that Samsung is planning on terminating its contract with Apple for LCD panels used in their devices.  One executive, who refused to be named, stated that Apple was demanding for discounts on the panels and they’ve already reduced shipments of panel this year and by next year, they will be ceasing supplying the Cupertino company with LCD panels for their iDevices.

But a spokesman for Samsung Display denied the news stated that, “We did not cut the supply for Apple.  Because of the patent lawsuit, the industry is guessing we tried to cut the supply. We didn’t do that. We will continue to supply panels for any customer.”
